Finally Got One!
Hello Everyone,
I recently joined the forum after coming acrossed it looking for some information about Dodge CTD's. Well the moment of truth has arrived and I am the proud owner of my first CTD. It's a 2001 3500 Quad Cab, dark blue in color with a 5.9 HO and a 6 speed manual. I drove it home after purchasing it and for over three hundred miles of the trip I didn't even listen to the radio. I just listened to the turbo whistle and just smiled. I left it running outside the local convenience store a couple of days ago while I went inside to get a bottle of pop. The exhaust was facing the door and while people went in and out it sounded as though the North wind was howling through there like we were having a major blizzard. I just stood there smiling. Can't wait to hook it up to our 22 foot stock trailer! I think we'll get along just fine. Whistle while you work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the site and congrats on yer recent purchase.
I found this site to be a huge wealth of necessary info when I first started "hangin' around).
I found out that our Cummins engines, like NASCAR engines and fighter aircraft engines aren't gas-n-go and require some attention to detail to maintain their health and well being.
Since somebody's already mentioned the G word, I'll repeat it. Guages, particularly the lift pump fuel pressure guage. Type "lift pump" in the search box , fix a sandwich and enjoy the education.

Thanks guys for all the greetings. I'm a firm believer, as are the rest of you, you need to know what the engine is doing. I will take your advice and get a good set of guages. I found out my blood pressure had been running a little high lately. I wouldn't have found that out without a guage now would I?
