Talking Finally got to bring her home

Well i signed every thing Thursday but while they were installing the B&W hitch the guy drilled the hole in the bed 2" to far back. So they said they would pull the bed off of another new truck if I wanted but I told them to just weld the peace back in and re-drill it and put a spray in liner at no charge and they said OK. The guy that messed it up had to pay for what ever I decided to do so I thought this was cheaper than a new bed and I got a liner out of it. With the liner in it you would never know it was messed up. But I had to leave it for 2 days more. So finally I got to go get it today and I love it. Its one thing to test drive one but its totally diff when its yours. I can remember my parents getting a new ride and the dealer would fill it up for you but not anymore. When I filled up ( 200 yards down the road) it held 32.6 gal and only has a 34 gal tank.

I never in my life thought I would have a diesel with an auto but I love it. And after putting clutches in 2 6spd 07 5.9 with less than 34K on for family them I decided to give this one a chance. All I can say is WOW. I drove one with a 6spd man. and I like the auto better. I have a pretty hot 96 12valve 5spd and this will almost keep up stock. I really like the ex-brake and the manual shift. If you do like it says in the manual and hold the - down with the ex-brake on it will down shift to the best gear to slow you down and it will set you forward in your seat. For now with mixed driving and only 280miles on it it shows to be getting 14.7 mpg but I have never seen one that was not 3+ over so I will check by hand when I fill up.

Here she is, Inferno Red with khaki interior. What y'all think? Its the first new truck I have ever had, actually it is the first with less than 100K on it and cost more then all 5 previous before combined X2 . I will get some better pics in the day light.

Thanks, That's the only way I would make my self buy a new one. Its one thing if I an broke down but its diff now. By the way were are those cookies I was promised??

How do you like your Toyo's? I have run BFG M/T's for the last 6 years and realy like them but they only go to 285 and them make a huge jump but I can get the Toyo in 295 and thats closer to the 305 I would like. I have always run 33 or 35x12.50 but dont want this one to get to tall.

I won't own another brand of tire... Honestly for what I do they are the bomb... With my truck and trailer weighing in at 19k they have to be heavy and strong... I have always got over 40k with them my last set were 37's and they had 57k on them and looked dang good... I believe they do make a 295!!!

That's close to what I pull almost every day and I have to be able to back the trailer right up to the front door of a house on a job sight and not slide all over the place. I drive a lot of highway but when I get in the mud I have to have control and not slide all over and mess any thing up. the tires and full replacement front and rear is about all I plan to do.

Nice truck...but heck, you didn't end up getting gypped on your interior did ya? By the looks of the picture, you got the gray interior...they didn't do a TRUCK swap after they messed up the hole in your bed did they?

Well I got to try out the 4x4 tonight. It acts just like a manual trans in 4 low when going down a very very steep tank dam I let off the brake and the engine kept things nice and slow. All the auto's I have used before would free wheel down a hill like that. I had it in the pasture for about an hour and I liked how it would just idle around in 1st 2 high with out having to stay on the peddle it would just go right along with now prob. Once I got back on the road I got on it pretty good to help clear out any wet build up. From what I have seen most people are having probs from never getting on it enough to get it hot and burn off the crud. Have any of you ever seen any % clogged on the over head other than System OK or Catalyst 100% or is it just one or the other?

Now I just need to install a brake controller and plan to put it in the dash and use a Redline 1200 like I did on my 96. It will only take one never seen hole in the back of the cubby. I hate them down around my shins. With it in the dash its right by the EB and shifter lever, and no bending down to reach it in an emergency. This one can be mounted in any position even upside down and will wedge in nice and snug. I will still have room for my phone and thats all I need there.
