fifth wheel hitch ?
I have a 38 ft forest river Salem toy hauler. I installed a EZglide Pullrite hitch in mY mega cab for clearence but I still am going to hit the cab When turning sharp. It dosent look Like the superglide is going all the way back before the trailer will Hit the cab. I think If I move the pin farther out I will use the whole travel Of the superglide. Does anyone think 4 inches More Would be too much to move the pin, And will it put alot of extra stress on the front frame? I talked to the frame manufacture and he said dont do it. It will only hit when at almost a 90. Thanks Joel...

Hi Chubby, I just looked at mine (Quad cab) and the plate that rides on the rails will stop the slide when the plate hits the end of the hitch at 90. I have heard that the mega can not do a full 90. The only time I get close to 90 is backing. When backing and you try to go more that 90 you are not turning but trying to push sideways and something is going to break.
As far as extending the the pin, do you have the extended box?. The extended box will stick out a few inches in front of the trailer.
I know it can be hard when backing and you are looking at tree limbs, curb, hookups, etc.but I know a guy that has a shortbed and no slider. You just need somthing to tell you to stop before poping out that rear glass.
good luck

an extended pin box will not help at a 90 degree turn they help on the "lesser" turns. the width of the coach and the positioning of the hitch in relation to the cab is what matters. if i'm not mistaken the superglide has three different hitches depending on the weight. measure the width of the coach either 96 or 102. then slide the hitch and measure from the center of the pin to the cab. if that measurement is less than half the width of your coach then it will hit. i know this doesn't help with the problem it's just a way to make sure.

I'll guess you have a Lippert frame. If they said don't do it, I wouldn't even consider it. From what I've read, they are not overly strong in the frame extensions to begin with.
