Contact your local Dodge dealer and provide them with the 17 digit vin number from your truck. They can print out a detailed build sheet with each option the truck has.
You could also try www.dodge.com and click on the "For Owners" area. At that point go to the "About my Vehicle" area and fill in the questions asked about your vehicle.

If its an auto and your build date is 01-03 and newer its a 48RE, otherwise its a 47RE if you have an SO or Cali engine. If its a manual we kinda need to know how many gears.

"SO" stands for Standard Outout, or 250hp, unless its a California special that was detuned to 235hp. "HO" or High Output was 305hp.
Looking on the drivers side of the engine block near the CP3 there is a tag that will tell you what you've got. I found it on my '03 in that spot.

Good bet its a 47RE and an SO since the 48RE did not go into production until 01-03 and HO was never built the the 47RE.
Like the previous poster said, left side of valve cover at front of the engine will give the ratings.
