There is a brilliant post from Superduty under the accessories forum, worth reading, printing, and framing.

You will see various pumps being used in signatures, Carter, Holly, FASS, Air Dog, Aeroquip, etc.. They all seem to have their occasional bugs. I like my 95gph FASS. I didn't like the 150gph FASS.

I don't think you will be able to suck through a failed stock lift pump. Others can probably confirm yes or no.

An option....the FASS and Air Dog comes with all new fuel line. You can plumb it directly in to your CP3 and leave the factory fuel lines and pump in their place. Just plug the ends. If you ever have a pump failure, the factory pump can be hooked back up in 20 minutes or less on the side of the road. Not that I would look forward to doing that, but if my FASS ever died and I was stuck somewhere, I would have the option.

I am in the process of finishing my half scotty half custom installation. New 1/2 line (bulkhead fitting in tank) to a high flow holley filter (60 micron screen) to the new holley gerotor 12-150 pump. Also the system will feature a check valve , in case of pump failure the CP3 will be able to pull fuel through the bypass check valve. The front end is all Scotty smart fuel. doug
