What features to turn on in the ECM?
Hi All --- Going to take my truck into the dealer to have some of the extra features turned on like the 3 cyl idle and maybe the Daytime running lights. What are some of the other things should I consider having turned on while he's in the computer? Thanks in advance for your input.

for when it gets REALLY cold... not sure on the exact temp though. and i believe it's enabled from the factory. maybe you're thinking of the driver-enabled manual high-idle?

You read right....it also lets you use the windows and wipers. It will auto shut off after 10 min or so. You can also have it configured to unlock all the doors when you open the drivers or not.

Is that a dealer-special or something I can do with a crazy horn honk, ignition, seat belt sequence?

I would not enable the daytime running lights, unless they turn off while in park.
My work truck is a Ford F450, the company had the daytime running lights enabled on all fleet vehicles that were so equiped. I work quite a few nights and some long days into the night, I frequently pull off the side of the road, or into a rest stop for a quick nap... you cannot turn the headlights off if you leave your rig running, either to keep warm or cool.
It attracts undo attention, I have had several people come up and check my door, or knock on my window as I am stretched across the bench seat. I believe it would be less noticable if the lights were off.

Hmmm, everything in my truck shuts off as soon as I turn the key off. I'm gonna have to look in the manual to see if that is something I can change myself. I kind of like when the stuff stays on until I open the door or 10 minutes has gone by.
Can the dealer make my Infinity Sound system be something to really be proud of instead of just a name-tag for a crappy system?

my radio, ect. will stay on for ten minutes or a door is opened.
look into the personal settings in the overhead display.
i would like the fogs to work with high beams.
and to keep the radio working until a door opens.

Does any one have a list of what features are available to turn on and for what years cause I think there was a computer change in there somewhere. I think the newer computers (06 and up) are capable of more.
