Question FCA - Fuel Control Actuator Replacement.

Was looking at the FCA last night...

...all I need is to remove the two bolts and wire connector, then install the new one correct?

...no fancy tricks?

(the little ball bearing that can be seen from the top has me concerned as to what to do with it and what it does and if it impacts removal and installation)

Ron.

The FCA looks like this. http://www.o-f-i.com/more/1958.jpg

There is nothing else to remove when replacing the FCA. IIRC there is three bolts holding the FCA.

Start shooting penetrating spray in em immediately and be prepeared for a hard time, as in don't strip the heads out on the first shot. Once you bust them loose its smooth sailing from there.

Like Rick mentioned, a little shot of penetration oil. Also helps if you shock the screws with a brass drift and a hammer (lightly).

Also make sure you lube the new o-rings very well before installing. I damaged one and finding a replacement o-ring is a PITA.

Yeah, I tapped the bolts on mine. I used a piece of flat bar and came through the top for the two top bolts.

Make sure to use a high quality torx bit or it will mess up the screws! Don't ask me how I know.
