hey everyone, so i just found out about cycling the ignition to find out what codes your truck is giving. it works, i just dont know if im reading it wrong or where to find out what the codes are. ive cycled a few times and im getting 1,2,4,1,5,5 any help would be awesome thanks in advance people.

sweet thanks! so what is my generator field and why is it not switching properly? and for the battery connection, could that be from the battery being remover when i bought it? ive had it for a few months and much more than 50 starts. but it came with the check engine light already on. does it just need to be reset? i dont mean to ask dumb questions im new to the awesome truck world.

 

41 is usually caused by a bad alternator.

 

indeed...alternators are the bain of my existence. every auto ive had has had a bad alternator at some point. at least its a fairly easy fix. although at this point it hasnt been acting weird. the charge hasnt changed since i got it....
