i am arguing with a friend of mien and he says a 7600lbs truck will never get a better 60' than 1.9

i was only at 370hp/800tq when i ran a 15.5@86mph with a 2.1 60' launching 1st gear 4x4

i know there are some faster trucks out there launchin in second gear that are pulling beter than 1.9's and running in the 12's and 13's

so please any guys who can give me some 60' times from fast trucks...i need proof

i have done 1.9s launching in 3rd gear with my excab dually 4x4, 6speed in 4x high range. if you want to see a bunch of good 60' times check out the dmax guys, a bunch are in the 1.7s. but i can tell you a 40 lbs launch in 3rd gear will light up all 6 of my 285/75/16s. i need to let some air out before i try that again. a good auto truck that has a full billet set up can smash right past 1.9 60's.

how do you build 40psi to luanch with a stick...i cannot build more than 3-5psi without the load on the motor

of course i do need a better clutch to be able to do all that...but the clutch, a big single, and a bigger fueling box is coming this winter.

i never said it was easy on the clutch, mater of fact i do not recommend it at all. but it does make for one heck of a ride.

how do you do it...i guess you can use the dual disk and slip it enought o load the engine and build boost?

I went 1.79 a couple of weeks ago at Rockingham only launching at 12 lbs. I believe Opie has launched at 40lbs of boost that netted him a 1.51( he was testing his shafts) A 1.90 is easy in 4wd, anyone with a auto and billet shafts and 400hp should be able to surpass that. Tim

I have run a 1.61 60' launching at 22 lbs of boost. Any more boost and I'm spinning. With some 12" wide sport compound tires and good rubber on the track I could boost higher and probably improve.

But I usually break all 4 tires loose.

Even tho I am not fast, I reguarly got 1.8x 60ft times. It didn't feel like a good run unless it was lower then 1.9x

I cut 1.8's in my street truck, mostly for reliability.

Darren currently cuts 1.50 to 1.51 in his 10 second truck. ;)

That would be 1.67 average G's to 60 foot, and 0 - 54.5 mph in 1.5 seconds. :eek:

And to think Diesel's are slow. :D

My truck weighs 8,000lbs and my 60ft time is very repeatable between 1.91 and 1.93. I have gotten 1.78 launching with a lot more boost than I'm comfortable with.

Gunracer you still did make it clear to me at least how you make that much boost with a clutch, I can slip mine a bit but not enough to even see 10 psi? I would love to see under 2 sec 60' times in my rig, not that it was built to be a racer but only a fun truck.

stand on the brake, with your foot on it side ways, with your toe on the fuel, rev it to 4k or so and start letting the clutch out. keep adding fuel and slipping the clutch.boost builds real quick but very hard to maintain a repeatable set up.

holy smokes you must be double jointed!

ok tried it today being its raining and the clutch will slip with 10 psi of boost at aout 5-6 psi it spins all four tires though, you must have a heavy hitting clutch or a dual disk.
