FASS Questions

I just installed my FASS 150/150 on my 97' 12valve and is this pump supposed to be this quiet??? Also my buddy has the 150/150 on a VP truck and when he puts his key on run postion the FASS pumps for a few seconds and then shuts off untill he starts his truck. My FASS runs and doesnt shut off untill the key is off the reason I am asking is I like to listen to my music from my truck when I am doing something outside and I dont want the FASS running the whole time when the truck aint running. What do I have to do put the FASS on a toggle switch??? Thanks for some help mabey Dan will chime in .

I just ordered a FASS 150/95-1008 for my '01 24V CTD (said to be the one to get for stock to 500hp trucks & over 500 he recommended the 150/150)...I asked Rip and he said that they did some redesigning that made them more quiet then they once were. So how did the installation go? Any thing to be looking out for?

The install was sweet, very easy, I also added a 1/2 draw straw II so I had my entire bed off so that is what made mine so easy. It is a great kit IMO! The draw straw is a good part too! Nothing about this kit is hard if you have common tools and patience you are set.
I went through MOE at GOMERS great guy to deal with !

It's A Vulcan 1/2" draw straw it does not have a return port like the other that must be why it is draw straw II, I guess. You use the factory return port and drill a 1-1/4" hole in the tank and mount the draw straw in it, cut the length to fit, done. I ran -10AN line to my factory lift pump if it did any good or not who knows but it is done!

The Draw Straw II was designed to be used on rigs with the in-tank lift pump. The Draw Straw replaces the regular pickup in the tank module.

The 98.5-04.5 trucks have a relay harness that triggers from the ECM. This is why the pump shuts off.

On your truck..the harness is getting its power from a fuse tap. If you dont want the FASS to run when the key is in the ACC position, change to a fuse that is hot only in the Run/Start Position.....

Could also set it up with a relay and reference the hot wire off your fuel cut off solenoid.

Yup...the FASS's are getting harder and harder to hear running!

If I got a FASS, would I need a Draw straw? would it be a good idea to have one? what's the point of it, I thought the FASS was supposed to come with everything as a system, no?

I swapped out my old 150 series that was two years old for a 150/95-1010 unit, and I have a hard time knowing its running. Other than looking at my fuel pressure gauge and seeing its pegged.

Unless you have the in-tank pump conversion done, you dont need a STK or Draw Straw. UNLESS you note any issues with the in-tank pickup....which is rare to say the least.....

I would just hook it up the way the instructions say....more than likely you will not have any issues......
