I do know the IP is bad will have one by the end of the week. Is there a way to clear these codes i got a scanner from autozone and it said no codes found so i couldnt erase those codes it will on do them if check engine light is on thanks for the help guys. Thanks diesel dan for the info cant remember if i turned key on or not during the pump swap good chance that i did though. But i had a scanner i got from autozone and plugged it up and scanned it said no codes found. So i called them at autozone and the guy said that it would only show codes if check engine light was on and its not on. So do i need to take it to a shop and have another type of scanner put on it do erase codes or is there a way to erase with no scanner thanks for the info. Joe

Joe you can erase your codes by disconnecting both positive cables from your batteries and turn your key switch to on for 30 mins. That will drain any power that may be stored in any capacitors or something like that. After 30 mins turn your key off and connect the cables and try starting your truck. If you still have codes you still have issues.

Once a code is set, it is stored until erased. The engine light doesnt have to be on. You have soft codes and hard codes....hard codes, when set, will pop the MIL. The soft codes (Like a P1693) will not pop the MIL.
