Fargo won't pull

I have an '03 2500 4x4 auto. When it's at 2300-2500rpm, under load, turbo seems to dump pressure, & the truck just dies. There is a large puff of white smoke, & it won't do nothing until I back out of it, then it rattles like a bastard, coughs out black smoke, sometimes backfires, then runs fine until it hits 2300ish revs again. Its bringing up code 0521 ( oil sensor rationality, whatever that is.) Any insight to this would be great.

Sounds like running out of fuel. Lift pump? Fuel filter? Water in fuel?

Hounddog is correct, and I might add that because it happens at the higher RPM, you may want to look for a restriction, pinched fuel Line, bad/old filter as well.

I take PayPal. I'd drain a few ounces each fillup for a few tanks and see what you get.I drain a few ounces on mine almost every tank.No one EVER says their water in fuel light came on.Never.

There wasn't any water in the filter bowl when I pulled the filter. But there was what looked like fine sand & metal filings in it. I cleaned it all up, but I think I'll check it again next tank. The old lady nearly ran it out of fuel a couple of weeks ago, thats probably where the sediment came from. The filings concern me though. Your check is in the mail, Houndog.

Filings could be from the Lift Pump (LP). Has it been changed over to the in tank LP?

The lift pump has been changed at the dealer. I'm not sure if it is in the tank. Whatever the recall update is, I got.

Yeap, I have personally seen that before with a stock truck at the dealer while having my company truck serviced. Hope not for his sake.
