From Keith over at MD-TDC

Its that time AGAIN!!!.....
The Mason-Dixon Turbo Diesel Clubs Annual Fall spectacular....

FALL BRAWL 2009......."Take Calculated Risks."

The Mason-Dixon TDC would like to extend our invitation to all who desire to participate in this great end of the year show. This is our annual 2 day dyno competition which hosts some of the finest examples of diesel powered Trucks from all over the country.

The Dates.....Saturday & Sunday October 17th-18th-Rain Or Shine
The Place......SGS Automotive & Performance
901 Range End Road
Dillsburg,PA 17019
(717)502-8880
SGS Automotive
The Cost.......$70 for 3 spins with HP/TQ readings.

Remember stack equipped owners we would like you to drop your flex pipes if possible or allow us to some way vent the soot outside. Also we would like the dually owners to drop their outside tires off which allows us to move trucks in and out more efficiently.Tools will be provided by SGS to accomplish this and all we ask is to put them away when finished. The shop is also available for those who have last minute goodies to do or install and all they ask is that you dyno sometime that weekend. We did a great job at the spring show with the extra work and it showed when we were done, which we received many thanks for our professionalism.

Also..
We will having a covered dish cookout for those attending and we ask that you bring something along to share with the group for the weekends activities. It has been noted that we are having issues with not enough food for the amount of people who do come and we as a club are looking at ideas to change that for this show.So please be advised that there may be a change in the lunch procedure for this show and from now on as a few have ruined it for the others. The lunch update will follow at a later date however if you are planning to come and bring something, please post it so we can add you to the list.

Classes for the show....
Other than the "1st Generation Modified",which will remain intact, we will be splitting up some of the other classes in the interest of fairness and competition.I will be posting the rest of the classes as we get them finalized and will ensure to get them up asap. The rules for the first generation class will remain the same and it will be posted then also. There will be NO show-n-shine as it has been a terrible flop the last few years.

So we have the dates and now we need to people to come out and enjoy the falls best dyno roll.See You All Soon

Thanks again,

Keith

At Spring Fling I gave the SGS ladies money to get potatoe, macaroni, and pasta salad. At Spring Fling we had more people there than brought food. Stuff like pickles, ketchup, mustard and such are usually things we get last minute. Keith

We typically run out of drinks, soda and water.

well i tell you what i'll bring a couple cases of soda and water and i'll probably still bring some cookies and brownies anyway because she likes to bake. i'll see about bringing something hot but there gonna be 5 people in my truck, including 2 car seats so i may not have room for it.

I bring about 10 cases of soda and 2 cases of water, and get the sugar and creamer for the coffee.

Jason, if you bring soda, water, cookies and brownies that is enough.

Could someone bring cold salads like potatoe, macaroni, pasta, and coleslaw?

Haha, that's funny and surely how it is in Lancaster County or anywhere else in the country for that matter. It's that way where I'm at in southern York County and beats living in the city any day right Dave? I should be there at least one day and hopeing I can make it both days. Looking forward to it next weekend, but don't think I'll run on the dyno because I don't have much changed as far as mods since my first run back on Fall Brawl last year. Man, but I really need to get injectors and a torque converter soon! :o

I have to run into Delaware County once a week to restock the cylinders and I can feel the change in the atmosphere when I cross the Blue Route. Since you brought it up Brandon (not pointing you out Brandon) i would just like to remind everyone that Rt. 15 is not a drag strip. In case anyone does not remember there were issues (not necessarily DTR members) with careless driving and excessive smoke at the spring event. This lead to the local police showing up. So please everyone control your self's and lets not destroy a good thing and make a bad name for DTR.

ktpauley
10-13-2009, 02:07 AM
Zach, thanks for bringing that up. Route 15 IS NOT and I repeat IS NOT a drag strip. The local police showed up at Spring Fling because some people were being irresponsible. Don't be a chucklehead and ruin this for the host club and SGS. These events are held twice a year. So we are guests of both Dillsburg and SGS. Keith

looks like we are going to have inclimate weather this weekend. The event will go on rain or shine. For those that park on the hill exercise extreme care so the grass is not torn up. For those that are going to dyno make a trip down the road to get rid of any mud in your tires (also see my previous post regarding Route 15).

Thanks

Well, with an inch of rain for Dillsburg tomorrow I am not gonna make the trek all the way down there. I am a bad omen. If I plan to attend a diesel event it rains.I shoulda kept quiet and just shown up, it would've been sunny. I already have a cold, I don't think I'll be happy at 38*f and wet. what a great morning. I started my truck up to let it warm up a few mins while i got ready. When coming out to leave i noticed a nice big rainbow in the driveway. After looking around fuel was dripping nice and steady from the fuel heater area. Diesel is to expensive to let run out all over the highway and there is no dealer that is open around here on a Saturday. so I won't be making it :(.

For those of you who asked for the recipe.....here it is. It's very simple and very good!

S'mookies

Ingredients for one Batch:

1)Betty Crocker Peanut Butter Cookie Pouches (You can make the cookies from scratch if you feel so inclined but the Pouchs are easy and ready to go)

2) 1/2 of a jar of "Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallow Cream" (7oz jar)

3) 1/2 Cup of Small Chocolate Chips

4) 2 Tbs unsalted butter

Baking Instructions:

1) Preheat oven to 375*. Lightly coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray

2) Roll cookie dough (from Betty Crocker PB pouches) into 1 inch balls and flatten with a fork. Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes, then place cookies in the refrigerator for 20 minutes

3) While cookies cool, place chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat about 1 minute or until just melted. Let stand until the chocolate is slightly stiff.

4) Heat marshmallow cream in microwave for 10 seconds to soften. Spread marshmallow on a cookie, chocolate on another and sandwich together. Store finished cookies in the fridge.

When they look undercooked but nearing done and a little gooey, take them out. After cooling they are chewy and soft.
