Factory Cab Lights Install?

Looking at getting a used set of clearance lights with factory harness but my truck did not come with them. Will there be a plug that matches the harness or will I have to hack this thing into my electrical circuit? Just wondering if all trucks came with the wiring even if they didnt come with the lights. Anybody have any installation guidelines or a link to some instructions? Thanks!

Hey TXWelder, Like your Avatar. Gig 'em!! To answer your question, I just did the install on mine and it wasn't too hard. Set aside 3-4 hours and take your time. Mine didn't have a plug, I had to tap into a parking lamp wire underneath the underhood fuse box. Here is a good set of guidelines to help you out: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=130686
Good Luck!!!

I just put a set in mine that I got for Christmas. They were aftermarket but were the exact same size as the OEM. It's nice because there are 5 locating holes in the top of the roof that make aligning them really easy. It only took me about an hour or two in the cold. If you don't have the harness you should just be able to tap into your parking lights.

Thinking about adding them to mine. Where are the locating holes located, are they under the headliner?

I installed OEM lights on my friends '01, and there was no plug for the harness. I had to tap into the headlight switch.

I just got done cutting a truck apart and the main concern I would think is the the factory uses small square push-in inserts for the screws to tighten to and if you don't have them you could strip out the metal .
I guess you can uni bit the bulb holes and mark the lights where the screws go and drill small holes and use plenty of rtv .

The locating holes are underneath the headliner. You can't miss them once you pull the headliner. As far as screws go, I just drilled an undersize hole and used the supplied long sheetmetal screws for the job, so far no leaks
