Factory bed weight

Does anyone know what a factory long wheel base dually bed weighs? I am thinking of getting rid of the factory bed and installing a flatbed, but I don't want to increase the trucks weight drastically. Im new to this forum and love it so far, thanks for any advice.

I would think that all of the flat beds except the most basic would be heaver than the stock dually bed.

yea, thats what I would think too. Im thinking about using a basic flatbed and dressing it out myself. Although the hauler style beds do look great! However, weight is a huge issue in my operation.

Check here http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/200...ocs/dr/pbr.pdf

This document doesn't list the dually bed, but the 2005 long bed is 378 lbs. FWIW, the document does state that the duallys are not recommended for bed removal. I suppose it depends on what you're replacing it with.

I have a quad cab 4x4 CTD w/6spd with a toter bed. The curb weight on the truck is 8,200# full fuel, me behind the wheel. The stock beds are lighter - maybe someone has weighed theirs with a similar set up to mine and you could compare the two and figure it out ?

I would guess in the 400 pound range I took one off to put a utility box on and 4 men lifted it off with not much effort. I also have a 1st gen dually bed with a GN plate bolted in it and we (3 of us) lifted it on a flat trailer but one of us soiled his shorts

im in the process of doin the same thing. my truck weighs right at 7400 with me in it. im just guestimating, but my flatbed will probably make the truck bout 1000lbs heavier than the truck is now, its just a rought guestimate though.
