Fabbing up a sidedump, in progress comments

Well My exhaust was in need of somthing, it was a banks dynaflow muffler behind a gutted Cat with stock 3-1/2 tailpipe, and had leaks at every connection. I got under there and took everything out behind the downpipe, and man does it sound like it has some kahuna's now, lol. Turbo whisle is great, it's alittle raspy at idle with the stock 3-1/2 dp, once u get going it sounds great though. I'm gonna use the tailpipe section to fab up a sidedump, but i'm contemplating keeping the muffler on for now, until I get a full 4". This is only a temporary solution, but just the downpipe would be alittle loud for me since it's right under the cab and I can already tell it's gonna drone like that.

Does a 4" dp and straight pipe have that raspy idle? I'm alittle unsure which way to go, 4", 5", or 4" with a muffler?

Yeah, no matter what it's gonna sound raspy when your just running the DP. I drove like that for a day because I took my stacks out so I could paint the Ypipe and I didn't like pulling up next to people at the stop light because it sounded so terrible. If you go with a full 5" exhaust it will probably drone a little more in the cab, but it will have a deeper exhaust note. I almost went with a full 5" exhaust, but it got my stacks instead and I'm very glad I did. I would go with 5" exhaust with no muffler.

I decided to leave the muffler on until I get a full 5", because the stock pipe didn't sound that good straight piped. It was a pretty simple job, and the side dump looks alot better than behind the wheels IMO, and it has no leaks now, lol. heres some pics
