Question External Trans Filter

I do not hear of many people using them. Why not? It seems like it would be easier to maintain. Does anyone here use them?

Still have to drop the pan to adjust the bands. I guess if you wanted added protection....

That is really what I am looking for. Just a little extra filtration. I am kind of worried about the possible decrease in fluid pressure also. I am thinking about an extra deep pan with a drain plug along with an external filter for easier and more frequent fluid changes. I need to get the most out of my trans with the few minors mods I am planning.

Contact Jeff Garmon. I saw his system at his shop day a couple weeks back, nice setup.

I searched for that user name and nothing came up. Is there better contact info? A website or a different user name perhaps?

Suggestion. do not add aux filter. The added restriction is more harmful. The VB mounted filter is more than adequate. Get a reusable gasket and a drain plug in pan will make replacement/adjustments so much easier. JMHO

There is no restriction and if you've seen the kit that I mentioned it will actually extend the service of the transmission.
