Expansion valve part number?
I can't seem to get a hold of the proper expansion valve.....Orielly's plug was on the wrong side, so went to napa and it was the same. The one they try to give me , puts the sensor plug up against the blower motor and it won't fit. Any body have the part number....this is a 91 non i/c

You should be able to check the old one and see if it works properly...can't say if those go bad or just need cleaned? I got the 'right' one from a wrecking yard and it was fine...never looked at the stocker, this was after I put the 'wrong' one in.

Expansion Valve
I just went through this with both NAPA and Auto Zone, all of their paper work is wrong, I have to make a special trip to pick up the expansion valve and when I looked at it I said its the wrong one so I started looking through my paperwork and notes and the correct valve is the one that fits from 1989 to 1991, they kept trying to sell me one for a 1991.5 saying there is no difference in the engines.
Every time I go to buy something I feel I have to educate someone else about what they are selling.
Also I brought in my old valve to have one to show him how they are different.
Going back on my history they found the valve I had bought about 5 years ago and the numbers were a match.
Factory Air #38848 from Auto Zone
Here is the new valve mounted with the new hose assembly.
Old valve is on the left and the new one is on the right side,
Remember there are no shrader valve on the pressure switch so if you try to replace in without discharging it first it will blow out of your hands and dump your charge before the first cuss word leaves your lips.
This is the only to boil out the moisture, with a good vacuum.
Hope this helps.

I got the A/C hose from my local Dodge dealer, but it was shipped from
DON-A-VEE Jeep Chrysler
PN.#4773739 Line: Suction/ Liquid $113.00
They are getting scarce but they are still out there.

more information on the expansion valves only difference I see is the superheat number is 2.5 degrees higher for the 1992 one. according to the picture the number is the correct number at 38848 and has the correct location for the low pressure switch.
