Exhaust up-grade
I have been looking at an up-grade for the exhaust system and I have found that there is not alot of price diff. between a 4inch and a 5inch system. So would it hurt the performance of the truck if I put on a 5inch over the 4inch system,I know bigger is not always better but not sure when it comes to the exhaust because I think someone posted that their truck lost 1mpg when they installed a 5inch system from a 4inch. ???

Unless your going over 450hp, theres no need for a 5". I have heard the same thing on lossing performance on a 5" without the mod's. I put a 4" DPP system from turbo to tip and I like the product. Easy to install, had the exact fit to the hangers, good price and it sounds sweet! 8)

TE-444,
02DSLDOG is correct, 5 inch will actually hurt your low end off the line performance unlkess you at or over 500 RWHP etc. I would suggest that you get a 4 inch system like ours in either aluminized, T-409 or T-304 stainless based on the length of your ownership of the truck and where you live for winter time corrosion protection. Call us if you need us.
