Exhaust Tips
I have a 4" exhaust, but no tip yet and I was wondering if choosing different tips changes the sound. I want to put a 5" stainless tip (welded) on. They sell the rolled, round, square, oval, or just angle cut. I want it to sound good. The rolled edge tip looks best to me, but it seems like that would change the sound.

i have noticed no real sound difference. I bought the MEGS polished stainless tip.....no clamps needed. It is made to fit tightly and stay on....if your pipe happens to be on small side of tolerance and the extension tip is on the large side of tolerances it might be a little loose.
So they recommend and I complied by putting some two part epoxy on exhaust and then sliding the MEG over it. So far a month with no loosening or rattle...
It has a rolled end and extends the pipe by about 4-5 inches if you push it on flush.....if you think ahead and do it how I wish you can stop an inch or two short of bottoming on exhaust and have it out even with rear tire edge....
I have noticed a huge reduction in soot on rear bumper though ....and for that I am very happy.

I have a 4x6" tip with a rolled edge. The guy at the muffler shop told me that the tip didn't make any difference in the sound. It is mainly for looks. I was gonna get a 4x5"x12 but the guy pulled out a 6" to show it to me. It is 18" long and looks better IMO so I went with it.

I have a 5" turbo back exhaust with a 6" tip (18" long) and it DOES make a difference in the sound. The tip acts like a megaphone & deepens the exhaust sound.
