I am recently new here and wanted to give this forum thing a shot. I own a 2002 24v ram and i would like to do some exhaust modifications, I am looking to straight pipe it and have pulled off the muffler already and also would like to remove the resonator. One question would be that pulling off the resonator make a huge noise difference or none at all because of the missing muffler?
Second question is that i would like to install 4 inch piping, so i was wondering if i would tie the 4 inch pipe with the flange that connects to the cast iron elbow off the turbo or do aftermarket systems make a 4 inch elbow off the back?

Im am by no means an expert, but I just put 5" on my 02 for less than $400 it came with all the pipe starting at the back of the turbo and running all the way out. The two bolts were very hard to break lose at the back of the turbo but I did find that using break free oil helped alot, all and all it took an hour to put on using clamps. As far as the noise i took the muffler off first and didnt notice any diff from that and taking of the resonator its LOUD but after the muffler is gone I dont think it could get louder

I put a 4 inch striaght pipe on my truck this spring. I love the sound of it and it cost me 269.00 plus shipping. I got mine from Rip at Source automotive, great guy to deal. his web site is sourceautomotive.biz. It doesn't come with a tip but I already had a tip before I purchased his system. His system was easy to install, I had to trim the pipe a bit because its made to fit any dodge of the second gen style. I think by myself it took me a little over 2 hrs to do and that was taking my time.
