Exhaust question (size)
I have an 07 5.9 and am running an AFE intake and Bully Dog Pup on Extreme setting..... Should I spend the money on a 5 in exhaust system or are there any other suggestions or tests that have been done (with results)?

Size does matter but in this case you need to loose your muffler or atleast get a straight thru one. Also pull the cat off, 
but I didn't say that. You don't need a 5" unless you plan on doing alot of major upgrade to build massive power and tons of black smoke, then just get rid onf the exhaust and run an 10" up thru the bed

I'd rather not change anything if i dont have to...... but, i think that if I do it should only be getting rid of the cat and adding a good muff. What do ya think? I dont plan on adding anymore power.....

Just change the muffler to a straight through one by Nelson or Donaldson, don't waste your money on a whole new system.
My 40" Nelson cost me a whole $67, sounds nice, not obnoxious like many aftermarket mufflers, pics in my gallery.

I just had my new AFE Catback system installed this morning and LOVE it. I realized after I ordered it that I wasted money because it and the stock system are both 4". The straight through muffler sounds fantastic though. Not much extra noise at idle. It has a nice throaty sound at idle but not disturbingly loud. It sounds like a beast deep and rumbling when accelerating hard (over 2k rpm). When I ease back off and set the cruise control it doesn't sound much different than stock at speed. It turned out to be perfectly what I wanted. The muffler shop would not put in a cat delete pipe and maybe that wasn't a bad thing. It sounds just how I wanted it to. I might loose the cat eventually though for better mileage.

i have an 04' cummins, i had the exhaust done a couple years ago, straight 5" turbo back, and now i was looking into doing stacks,i was told that i can do dual 5" stacks, but then again i was told that you aren't supposed to, that that would be too big, i have heard mixed opinions and people telling me different things,
just want to see what you guys think, and some pros and cons for doing dual 5"..... should i stay with that, or should i drop it down to doing dual 3-3.5" instead...?

so i can just re-route my five inch, and not even have to change my pipe size at all? have five inch dual pipes... i was going to put my t-pipe in the bed and then route everything... so it wouldn't be too much back pressure?

megacabdad--- thanks for that video, it's only a single exhaust, but it gave me great ideas and i'm stoked to start, i have started buying my parts, hopefully have it done soon... fordzilla--- do you have any other pics of your exhaust?
