exhaust manifold sources?
i have a few broken bolts for my current stock manifold and i was thinking about upgrading to a performance one. what are you guys running for aftermarket manifolds?

I don't really understand why people say that though? As though it matters? The primary point of an aftermarket manifold is to help keep EGTs down by helping things flow more freely and without restriction. I don't think it matters what hp you're at, if it helps keep things cool and you can afford it, why wouldn't you? especially if you have broken bolts from a shrinking manifold.
ATS is supposed to be a good manifold, it flows well. There is one other that a few guys have mentioned but I can't remember who makes it off the top of my head...

I went with the PDI. Have heard about ATS, HTT, and BD ones cracking. Granted PDI probably hasn't been around long enough to see the same results. From the sounds of it, the cracking is mainly from crazy EGT's.
Honestly I did not see much difference power-wise. Maybe 50*-100* less EGT. Mine was about ready to break the ears off from the head, and I had the do the HG. So, I basically had to do it.
One thing I learned:
Always check to make sure it fits the head. Apparently mine had been riding on end in the UPS truck . The bouncing pressed the rear piece too far into the center section, and of course I didn't check it. It was a pain to get it mounted up!

I assembled my ATS manifold as it arrived un assembled. I put the two ends in the freezer over night then cooked the center section in the oven at 450 degrees for about a 1/2 hour. It went together very easily. I ran it for awhile then had a freind port it. I swear it came back 20 lbs lighter. The idea behind the 3 piece is to allow for expansion under high EGTs. Mine has been on for about 5 years now and still it problem free. If you can do the porting yourself or know someone who can buy it unported, if not spend the extra money and buy it already ported.

thanks for the input people. my manifold is warped snd i have to take it off to tap the broken bolts out so i thought i would save up for a good one. i didnt think there would be much change in power, i was really just thinking about starting there and working my way back to a new turbo and exhaust later because the manifold is the only thing currently effed. its leaking pretty bad. how much does a ported ats cost? keep the info coming guys, thanks!

I was going to port mine, but it came gasket matched on the exhaust ports. I did do a small amount to match the outlet to the exhaust housing. Like maybe 5 min. worth.
