Exhaust / Intake Question

My truck is all stock and I am wanting to make a few mods. I am wanting to upgrade the intake and exhaust systems, leaning towards and afe II intake or the air raid and a 4" or 5" exhaust either the mbpr or the silverline from the turbo back. Any opinions or experiences are appreciated.

S&B all the way as far as intake kit goes, I wished it was available when I was in the market, I paid 200+ "MORE" dollars for my Stage II, and I like my MBRP exhaust! You'll love those upgrades!!!

Thanks Blackedout1ton and COUNTRYBOY, kinda pricing them out and lookin at the options, probably will never need 500+ just towing a med size rv and a few 4 wheelers. I have a friend that has the silverline 4" exhaust and it sounds great. COUNTRYBOY was the AFE worth the $?

Your exhaust is already 4". Go to 5" if you plan on big power or like the sound.

You can do a muffler swap or delete to get rid of the restrictive factory one.

You also have a catalytic converter that you may or may not leave on, your choice, but check with the smog regulations in your area.

As far as intakes go, your choices are almost endless...some have even made their own relatively cheap! Do some searching in this forum.

I really like the S&B intake. they seem to be really well made and reasonably priced. I just did a full 5" straight exhaust on my truck and really like the sound. i didn't do it much for performance, just like the deeper tone. just my .02

Thanks for the .02, better sound is what Im after so Ill go with the 5" turbo back exhaust. I have a lot more reading to do on the intake though.

well not everyone likes the straight pipe, but i love it. the 5" is alot deeper and seems that the drone is not as bad as the 4" but that could just be me lol. hope that helps Mudmohawk
