Exhaust Brake - which one?
After 3 weeks of mountain driving with my 24ft trailer, I really need an exhaust brake.
I have been looking at the BD and Pac-Brake.
Anyone have experience/problems with either? Preferences?

i have been running the pacbrake prxb for 2 years now. no issues. great results, my survive brakes are still just about perfect. controls my downhill speed, definately keeps things safe.

I am in the same situation as you but i was looking at either the Jake brake or the pacbrake. I have seen pacbrakes (brand new) on ebay for like $650-$700 and if I can find one at that price again I think I will go that route just cause of the price.

Be careful. There are two different Pacbrakes: the PRXB and another one. MSRP for the PRXB is about $1250. The other is much less, somewhere around $700. So make sure you know which one you're getting.

When it comes to e-bay please be careful someone claiming to have military or Freightliner stock for the ISB exhaust brake has been selling the brakes at a dirt cheap price, Yes the brake is for an ISB Cummins but the turbo outlets on the Dodge is totally different and will not work.

I am most interested in the Pac for that exact reason, the on board air option. I thin kthat is just sweet

The guy selling our brake on e-bay is only selling the brake you have to find all the other parts, if its a dealer selling it as a kit and its at rock bottom price it is more then likely not the PRXB.

I also have the Pac (PRXB) and won't go without it from now on. Actually it's one of my favorite mods.
Contact Lary at the DTR store, he can hook up a VERY nice price on the Pac Brake.

go with a pressure activated unit over a vacuum unit.... simple reason, vacuum pump fails on ur dodge (which they have been known to do) u lose power steering, service brakes and a vacuum operated exhaust brake.... if u have an air operated unit at least u have some braking left.... I run a 4" inline pacbrake at 65psi and love it!
