Was looking at an 03 3500 6 spd and know that I want the pac brake on there. I know DC sells one and recommends using theirs. How difficult are they to install, should it be left to the ***********?

Also, guages...where are you installing the pyrometer if the "A" pillar has the grab handle. I did see the pictures of the one truck that added the pod onto the dash, is that the best/only option?

pac brake is an after market brand. very well respected and uses a 12v air compressor to operate the brake. I recommend going to the pac brake website -- down load the instructions and see if you are up to the task. many have done it, report that the instructions are clear, and that pac brake is great to work with.

Jacobs also makes an exhaust brake, and this unit is sold through and warrranted by Dodge. the dealer can install this. They use an outboard vacuum pump, with an accessory drive belt, to operate the brake.

both solutions work very well.

I've seen gauges mounted on top of the dash, on the pillar, on top of the column, and in the dash under the radio. All require some creativity -- esp the in-dash mounts, where I don't believe (at this moment) there are any pre-manufactured trim pieces to fit.

If you are patient and reasonably mechanically inclined, do it yourself. I did mine in just under 4 hours. The instructions are by far the best set of instructions for an automotive accessory that I have ever seen. There is a list of required tools in the first page or two of the instructions. You will need all of them. My only deviation from the instructions was to route the interior wiring inside of the shifter boot instead of over it.

Does anyone have any experience or opinions with the "Super Duty" D-Celerator Exhaust Brake (http://www.usgear.com/dcelerator.htm)?? I somewhat like the idea of the wastegate idea to regulate pressure.

What do you guys think??

Go to www.jakebrake.com and follow the links to the instruction manual for the Jake brake that is warranted by Dodge. I did my own, and it only took a couple of hours with beer breaks.

Before I bought another Jake I would check out the new brake from BD (www.bd-power.com). I did one for a friend and it was so easy to do that it was almost criminal.
