Exhaust Brake Not really sure if its working,,,
OK, I have to get this out in the open,, I'm not really sure my EB is actually working... there I feel better.. I've read the manual and at times (very few) I feel as if it actually worked but its not consistent, in tow mode it always downshifts prior to what I would expect the EB to start braking. I kind of wish I could actually hear it. Any sage advice on this one???
Thanks

You should definitely hear it working and feel it too. It almost sounds like a big rig slowing down. What you can do is when slowing down from about 60 mph, let off the throttle, wait about 2 seconds and you should hear it kick in, then light apply the brakes and it should REALLY kick in.

Mine's a 6 speed, but you should CERTAINLY hear that sucker kick on. If you have a toggle switch, turn it off...try decelerating, then turn it on and try to discern a difference. Mine's night and day.

You can NOT miss the sound of an exhaust brake as well as feel the truck slowing down like you downshifted.
I have the 5.9 07...only thing I wished was on my truck. Hubby's work truck is an 08 Sterling Bullet and I love the sound of the EB kicking in...
