will it ever end with this truck?
ok all the boost leaks are fixed, still only got arond 22 psi, though this time would build boost all the way through the rpms maybe a 1 or 2 psi drop off at the end. so whats next to look at, dying vp? dying turbo? bad injectors? any ideas? this is getting old

Let's see- I hope that this helps:
I'm not familiar with the XZT+ , does it have EGT defueling? Maybe set too low?
I'd start with checking the boost gauge- just use regulated shop air to verify that it works.(Had some fun with a kinked line that made mine read very low)
What are your EGTs? If they are low it ain't enough fuel. This would lead to checking connectors, box settings etc.
If they get above 1300 and you have smoke when at your max boost you lack some air. This would make me check the air filter, turbo shaft play, boost leaks (There may still be some, did you check with a pressurized intake, I'd suggest going up to 35 psi) and also valve clearance.
Naturally the VP44 can be weak, the injectors could be bad (unlikely) or a mis-wiring or defect of your box. (Like it doesn't boos fool the ECM and therefore defueling occurs.

I tried a boost elbow once and could not get more than 24lbs. I really had to crank down the screw well shut before finally have some pressure.
I even added some teflon tape to it to seal better.
Get something to squeeze the wastegate hose shut completely and see if boost climbs.
