Equal lift kits?

Ive been looking around for a basic 3-4" lift kit, but cant find any i like.

I want to lift BOTH the front and the back if i do it. Most the kits i see lift the front 4" and the back maybe 2.5".

I want to maintain the nose lower than the rear so the truck doesnt look retarted going down the road/accellerating/towing/hauling something.

Squattings for dogs, not trucks.

Anyone know where i can get such a lift, that maintains proper stance?

put what ever lift on and put extra spacer blocks in the back, or get some leaf springs added

for the time being until i get money to do a 5in kit i am going to level up the front and put an add-a-leaf in the rear. the truck will sit about 2 to 3 inches higher but still have the stock stance...if you do not want add-a-leafs in the rear do airbags....

There really isn't many options for lifts between 2" and 5". You can add a coil spacer up front to gain you 2" and put a bigger block in the rear....or an add a leaf.

NOTE: the add a leaf will make the rear end much stiffer just so you are aware of that.

Now skyjacker makes a 4.5" lift but is basically considered a 5". Most lifts come with a couple different options for the rear. Either you can do a full set of leaf springs or an add a leaf and a bigger block.

Now with my experience.....the new leaf springs usually tend to sit lower in the rear than the front.........not sure why but it always seems that way.

But with an add a leaf and a block, they usually tend to sit higher in the rear which I like a lot better.

I don't know about proper stance, but you can do the 3" Pro Comp lift with a 2" AAL and you'll still have that stinkbug stance you're looking for.

I don't recommend the Skyjacker 4.5" kit because it rides terrible and the drop down bracket for the track bar flexes like crazy making the steering feel like you may get the death wobble at any second. If I had a stock height truck I would add the 2" front leveling kit, DSS, a lukes link on the track bar and Bilstein shocks. My 2 cents, Eric

Thanks for all the input!

And "proper stance" is how the trucks look stock. Not a big fan of looking at the sky when i hit the go pedal, or same nose high when i have any weight in the back.

I prefer "stinkbug" stance over "dog draggin its butt on carpet trying to rid itself of worms." stance.

Ive heard some horror stories on skyjacker.. im avoiding that brand like plague.

Understood, to each his own. Personally, I like dead level, maybe a little lower in back. The problem with the stinkbug look is that unless you've really put some homework into the spring/shock setup you'll end up with very little suspension travel in front and rear springs that won't move when the bed is empty. If you hit a big bump at any speed (and I know y'all got plenty of 'em in AZ ) you'll bottom out the front and the back will kick really hard.

I'm with ellerman on the Skyjunker stuff. I have a whole 4.5" single flex kit sitting in my junk pile

I like my skyjacker. I replaced the track bar with a DT version and haven't looked back. It does ride a bit stiff but nothing I can't cope with. If I had to do it over again (which I probably will cause I'm getting bored) I'd do a setup like cowhands. Custom stuff all the way around.

What do you have in your truck now? Did you do something with the rear? I think I remember reading you were going to change the rear srings or do a shackle flip or something. Do you have the numbers to give the spring shop to make the longer springs in the front. I remember reading about a spring shop you got to make some springs for you. I think I will do the same but from a spring shop here. (dam border, shipping, ect ect)

Hey shawn,

What specifically are you asking? Originally I was going to have Deaver re-work my rear springs, but to make a really long complicated story short I have a pair of Sage Carli's add-a-packs sitting on my garage floor waiting to go in. We'll see how they work after I get the rear shocks valved for them. I need to get up to Don Thuren's place, we're gonna prototype some new stuff to get the rear suspension to work a little better.

As far as the coils, it kinda depends on what shocks you plan on running and what you're after performance wise- mild or heavy off road? Good street ride?
How much additional ride height?

I've heard there's a very good spring outfit up there, just can't remember the name off the top of my head...Custom Spring or something like that?
