So what turbos are you running - is the 'super twin' setup the same as the race setup? Looks great, man! Let us know how it does .

I'm running a PDR HX-40 that was one of the very 1st ones and it was set up with a better compressor wheel that the later HX-40s. And the H3b is set up stock PDR mods. So I guess it's just 1/2 Super...

LOL - I've never heard anyone refer to a 650+ rwhp setup as a 1/2 anything!! Sounds like a nice setup, man.

Drawson.. do you think the vent tube is too close to the engine??? any thing to cause pressure in the exhaust pipe could cause the pressure to build and not allow the check to open????? (Just thinking here..) Most gassers put the crankcase vent at the end of the pipe... but they are trying to cause a vaccum in the crankcase... (I sure like your idea... )

The only way I can see back pressure in my 5" non mufflered xhaust would be if I bend it closed. I'm also adding a crankcase vent filter to allow fresh air in.

My biggest concerns is creating too much vacuum inside the crankcase and sucking the gaskets in. Don't want no oil leaks on my purty motor

How long till you put it on the dyno and try again?

Not in any way glad it happened,
but glad I was there to experience my first grenading turbo.

Sweeet!! Explain again how the crankcase vent is plumbed and the theory? I'm guessing it's kind of a venturi in the down pipe that would help suck the pressure in the crankcase? Why doesn't it suck the oil out?

Dee:

Your new twin system looks great buddy!! You have been
talking about doing this for a long time now,.....glad to hear
you finally got them on.

My old 96' is undergoing similar procedures up at Scheid
Diesel. They are doing a complete rebuild with all the
"bells and whistles" including their twin turbo system.
Hope to have it back soon.

Take care Dee!

John P, Just like all our past hop up we are staying really close to each other.

Why did you need to rebuild yours?

What turbo are they using??

Dee:

Thanks for your reply! You are right about us following
a similar "BOMBING Path!"

You asked about my old 96'. Like you, I have been wanting
to do the twins and upgrades for a long time now. My engine
was still running good, but was beginning to have some "blow-
by" and oil usage. After 240,000 miles with me behind the
wheel that doesn't surprise you does it?? Anyway, Scheid
is putting in 14mm studs top and bottom, firerings, girdled
block, ported head, new pistons, better cam and the twins
among other things. As far as the twins, I am using my HX-40
on the top and Scheids' "hybrid" Schwitzer on the bottom.
I also had them "rebuild" my original HX-35/12 and put an
18cm housing on it to have a "spare."

Hope to have it back soon. I will keep you posted buddy!

Take care Dee!
