Hi all!

My brother and I were talking yesterday after recently seeing the Extreme 4X4 epsiode where the hosts and Gale Banks started a twin turbo Duramax suburban. We got thinking about how we would make and ultimate pulling rig.

We both know that there is a boat load of performance parts out there and it is quite reasonable to be able to put down 800+ hp and 1000 lb/ft of tourque. The only problem I see is that you can put down the power but the truck is still a one ton, and that makes stopping and controlling big loads a bit hairy.

So we decided that the F-650 would be the way to go, with the Cummins engine of course. Anyways this is all hypothetical and I don't think I will ever buy a $60K+ truck, but my question is what is the difference between the Cummins found in the medium duty line, they are ISBs I think, and the ones found in the light duty line? Also, they give different hp ratings for three or four different engine choices. Is this just changing codes on the ECU? Lastly would any after market parts work on these medium duty engines?
