Engine Speed Sensor Question

Thought I had a bad engine speed sensor. Lost AC, grid heaters, tach, etc. Ordered a new one and installed. Worked fine for about 5 miles then back to no work condition. Is there a way to test these sensors (old and new) to see if they are good? I'm getting 5 volts to the engine speed sensor from the PCM, which is new having been replaced by the dodge dealer a couple of months ago (but only a few hundred miles the vehicle has been sitting).

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

As an update, I've checked the voltage coming from the PCM and it is within spec (one calls for 8v the other 5v plus the ground). Any help on testing the sensors themselves would be appreciated

Problem solved for now after rechecking adjustment and sensor connections. We'll see.
