I'm having the same problem with my 08. The service rep told me it's going to keep happening if I drive in the city a lot. He also told me not to drive with the cruise control on for any long period of time. Also don't turn off the Jake brake as it helps keep the filter clean. I just bought my truck two days ago after trading off my 99 dodge with a cracked block. I'm very frustrated right now since it's only been on the road for one full day and now it's been gone for two. Good luck

I have had the light twice. Hopefully the last software update and the changeout of some oxygen sensors has fixed the problem. but as I have read on this forum and another forum, cumminsownerz.com , you can not drive these trucks like gasoline and older diesel engines. you can't let these engines idle, they have to be working. it is best if you can drive them for an extended period at operating temperatures. no short trips. find a frwy on ramp and sock it to it to make the turbo operate. run with the ebrake on.
yes, you may have to change your driving habits to own one of these trucks. i am going to give this truck an opportunity to prove it can be reliable, if it can't, i will probably go back to gasoline, just because the environmentalists have caused the manufacturers to make the diesel too inconvenient to use.

I wonder if the EPA took these hammer down driving habbit changes needed into account when they decided to lower our MPG and make us pay a premium for the bluetec system. Doubt it.

Delete the emissions systems and the truck will run like a dream. You become your own warranty station but you'll probably never be back at the dealer for repairs.

Quick tip.. always keep the revs up. For me in town it never gets above 4th gear, I select 4th every time and only 5/6 on the highway. Having it idle around at 900 rpm in 6th will cause it not to regen properly. Never had an issue and I don't "drive" the truck any different than my 97...
