Engine Light on - Need help with finding the code
Engine Light on - Need help with finding the code
Getting ready to sell the truck and as luck has it, the engine light came on when I was taking off the TST PowerMax box. I put the powerbox back on like it was, just to get the check engine light to go off and no luck. I did the reset...ignition from the acc. to on 5 to 6 times and no luck. I disconnected the batteries, and no luck. How do I check the codes? Can't use keep in the odometer button pressed in while the iginition is in the on position and it will give you a code? How is this done...I just see the RPM and MPH guage moving up to like 1 (RPM) and 20 (MPH), then up to 2 (RPM)and 55 (MPH), then both all the way to the max and both back to 0. Any thoughts? Thanks,
that's the code in the pcu that says theres another code in the ecu. do it agian. be sure it said pcu then done and ecu then done and back to the odometer reading. some codes in the ecu have to be pulled with a scanner so try it agian and wait till it gos back to the milage
Blackdiesel - Thanks for the help!
Here's what I see:
35164 (note: this is my mileage) then I do the test and I get:
P 1693
----------
P done
36164 (note: mileage)
Also, not sure if this helps, but my fuel pressure idle is 15 PSI which is pretty much what it always is. I replaced the LP about 5,000 miles ago.

Update:
I borrowed a friend's high tech, expensive as heck OBDII reader (i.e. laptop computer type). I got the following code off of it:
P0237 - Turbo/Super Boose Sensor A Circuit Low Input
Note: there were two codes...the same one twice for some reason.
We reset the ECU from the computer and he ran some program he had for my truck. The program checked each line of code or something and he was able clear the code and check it again. The code was gone, and we tried checking it again a few times and no more codes. With the truck connected to the laptop, we drove up the road a few miles and back and still no codes.
QUESTION: Any ideas why I may have received this code to begin with? I don't want it to return...if you know what I mean.
