Hey guys, I have had the engine die on me 3 times recently. Twice while towing my jeep and just yesterday around town. It just suddenly died with no warning. Had to roll over to the side of the road, turn the key off wait a few seconds then start it right back up and I was on my way. There we no signs it was going to die. But I do get code P0148.
I read this thread which has a good discription of all the reasons why you can get this code but I was hoping one of you could point me in the right direction for a solution. It doesn't really suggest what could be the problem if the truck just dies.

The only thing simialar to all the times it died was I was around 1/4 tank. But I just took a long trip this past weekenk while not towing and nothing went wrong. I probably need to replace the fuel filter so I'll do that tonight but if there is anything else worth doing I'll give it a try. My warranty just went out a 70,000 and I am at 72,000. I have no desire to take it in if I can fix it. If there is any chance it's the fuel pump starting to go I have an Airdog on standby. Also the most recent flash the dealer did before my warranty was up seemed to make the fuel pump run longer when the key is in the on postion. Used to only run for like 3 seconds, now it will run for at least a minute. Thanks for the help.

Sure sounds like a dying lift pump. The only way to know for sure is to get a pressure guage on the lift pump and watch it when it dies. The complete diagnostic tree is in the other thread you linked as well.
