Engine break-in...does this qualify?

I am coming up on mt first 5000 miles, and was curious as to if my H.O. can be considered broekn in? I have 2000 miles towing on her, hauling a 4500# boat...the rest is 85% highway and the remainder is city. I was looking to do an oil change at 5000 miles, and to go to a synthetic...but if 5000 miles isn'y close to being broken in then I will stick with the dino oil.

I'd stick with dino until 15,000 or so.
The Cummins turns slow RPM and is basicly loafing with the stress we put on it so it takes a little longer to break in.

Mine's got 10,000 miles at or above GCWR and it still feels pretty stiff. With light towing as you do and interstate driving empty it could take up to 20,000 miles.
