Engine block heater install
I am going to install a engine block heater in the truck in my sig, and I was wondering how hard is it going to be for me to do that, and where abouts is a good place to get one. When truck was purchased it never had a block heater, and would definitely enjoy having one for some of our cold streaks of below zero temperatures.

Double check to see if you don't already have one. Look to the rear of the turbo and below the exhaust manifold about half way down the block. There was a posting about all Cummins Dodge TD's have block heaters intallled you just need to buy the power cord. You may want to take a closer look at yours.

oh, ok when I get a chance, I will take a look at that. Does the power cord just sorta plug in up underneath the exaust manifold? and how much do you think the power cord will cost

IIRC the cords are about $30. Your heater should be towards the front of the engine, passenger side, under the exhaust manifold by the oil filter. It may have a plastic cover on it. The cord has a female end that plugs into it and a screw ring that secures it. Route the cord away from sharp things and zip tie into place. The factory didn't do a very good job of this and many cords wear thru and fray needing replacement. It can also cause a fire!

Here's a picture of it. Passenger side of the engine, look down between the oil filter and the turbo. If you don't have the cord, you can get them from Cummins for about 15$.
