Plug in your info here:
http://www.cummins.com/service_locator/index2.cfm

And see where the closest Cummins shop is to your location.

Cord

For your info. I picked a cord up today from my local Cummins dealers parts dept. Cost $ 10.32 plus tax. Part in stock. Cummins P/N 251919. Good luck.

That's pretty good! They quoted me 39 as well, but I got them down to 16 at the dealer. They claimed it to be at about cost. As much as I spend there I figured they could cut me a little break...

USMC64-70,

Pop your hood and look at the left side of the block just to the right of the intake tube you'll see a plug with a plastic cap threaded into the block, just unscrew the plastic cap plug in the cord and snake it up to your grill.

I bought a plug when I picked up my new truck a few days ago. (1st dodge, 1st diesel) I wasn't sure where to route it so I did one wrap around the intake tube and tucked it in next to the air filter housing (side away from engine). Anyone know where it's routed when it's factory installed?

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about.

When I bought my truck the sticker had a block heater option of $10.00. Was that the cord or the heater?

I do have a cord and plug already present right behind the grille very close to the passenger side headlight. It has a plastic weather protection cap on it that you pop-off to plug in.

Is there another cord to extend it out even further or is what I have the complete setup?

Thanks...

Bought mine at the local diesel shop for $11. Haven't used it yet, though. I haven't taken the time to drag the timer and cord out. The temp has only been down to -7*F and the truck started right up. The grid heaters in these Cummins engines sure beat the glowplugs in the Powerstrokes. My old Ford struggled at any temps below 20*F.
