Anybody running an electric fan like these Flex-a Lite ? OR does Haden make a double or suitable single and who carries it ?

I don't pull much and thats never over 4000 lbs so I don't think cooling would be too big an issue for me. I am wondering how much it'll help mpg and how well it works with the air conditioner ?

IIRC, the only electric fan on the market that can supply enough air to keep our engines cool even when unloaded is made by horton. It replaces the mechanical fun clutch with an electrical one. It also costs about $600. Also, I think I read somewhere that the stock fan pulls something like 10,000cfm of air through the radiator. The best electric one I've ever seen is maybe 8000. That's a big difference.

I know several trucks that run these fan to cool off between rounds of competition. Once they hit the track, the fans don't shut off until they're back on the trailers. With a 6800 cfm set of fans, it takes ~10-15 minutes to cool the temp enough to compete again. I would not recommend towing with electric fans for these engines.

Neither - just wondering how much replacing the propeller with an electric fan would help mpg....

i have seen several trucks running electric fans and they were all taken out of junk cars and they said they have never seen a problem
i have called several dodge dealers and they could not tell me how much air our trucks need to stay cool neither could the cummins shop
the only thing cummins said is that it depended if it was a pickup or tractor and then they said each builder has diffrent specs

I've read the stock fan when the the clutch is unlocked draws less than one hp.
When locked up it draws 23 hp
Think you might have a hard time finding an electric that will fit with that much power behind it.
