egts get hot fast

i have a 05 that is pretty much stock i have a 4 inch hole in the bottom of my intake and amsoil nanofiber filter and i have a muffler delete i just installed the quad recon gauge set
so my question or problem is that in that form if i punch the throttle in my truck the egts climb to like 1360 or higher in no time (like 100 yard) i have my gauge installed where quad recommends on the top of the manifold in the middle .
so why does this go so fast any ideas could it be the treatment in the fuel for winter making this much difference ???

As long as it is stock with no power adders I wouldnt sweat it.... The
S T E A L E R I mean dealer should fix it....
My 05 and my 07 both would run around 14-1500 when stock...
My 6.7 would do the same too///...

Dont see that you have a tuner or box. Take your pick on one of these and youll see power, milage, drop in temp., and tons more fun to drive. Lots of guys would rec. the smarty, that would be a great chioce or if you dont have 650. to drop you could get like a edge ez or simular for around half that and have pleanty of power. With my tuner the egts are better than stock unless im hard in it on the 215hp setting, and milage is way better than stock even on that setting. TURN IT UP!!!

I'd have too think he has an X1 mod not an X2 with a 30-60-100 hp so I'd think BF working then. Just a guess.

my brothers 07 5.9 6spd with Edge Juice w/Attitude 5X5 will hit 1500* pre turbo in a few seconds empty. Is your probe pre turbo?

Sounds like something else is broke... like your egt guage. You should be way above 900 especially with a stock turbo... Be careful.

My Egts are the same way. With my juice set at 5 mine have never seen over 750, and that is going up hill, but I have my pryo post turbo so what would the real temps be.

Seriously you should just go pre turbo. Educated guess around 300-400 more.

And if you're reading it from an Edge digital guage, they have been known to be off.

No, but it could be the cold outside air temps inflating your max EGT's. For some reason colder air temps will lower cruising EGT's but actually increase max EGT's. Mine hit 1550* (with the twins!) yesterday in 48* temps and it usually maxes out at around 1400* in 80-90* temps.

I agree. No way an '05 should max out at 900*...stock or with a chip. I would double check that pyro for sure.
