EGT Temps
Why am I hitting 1400 degress ( pre turbo ) with my set-up when the Quad box is only set on the 100hp level? This happens when foot is to the floor and mid way thru
5th gear and 39-40lbs of boost.

are u still on stock turbo? if so that probaly why. and 40lbs of boost is alot for a stocker. you have that little thing screaming. 1400 is not that bad for an 05 anyway. as long as its not for a long time. they run hot from the factory. theres alot of people on here that would love to see only 1400 at wot. me included

my temps with a quad race and stock turbo were too high when towing, no matter what setting. unloaded they were ok.
i put on the II SPS 62/14, and I cant get the temps past 1200*. way happy.
that little turbo is great for stock fueling both empty and towing. good temps and good spool. once you begin to add fuel, it just gets overwhelmed.

I have no issue with temps when towing my 5th wheel or race car but again I don't lay into. How long is to long at 1400, is it peaking and will start to cool if I keep my foot in it?

1400 is fine. 1450 is where it starts getting dangerous. If you keep your foot in it chances are it wont cool. mine just gets hotter and hotter.
Your truck will hit 1400 stock without a problem.
