I saw an ad in a magazine for edge that shows a controller that says it replaces the gauges. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this and is it a good power mod?

This (Attitude) is the best gauge replacement I have seen, and it has many other features. However so far it is only avaliable for the Duramax and the 6.0L Ford. Maybe someday.

The Duramax Unit is 100% bad :-X ;D! It tells you several different things along with adjustments. I cant remember all of them off the top of my head but things like: % of fueling, RPM, Adjust power, tranny slippage......lots more. BUT the Ford only has the options of changing the power and Gauge stuff. Thats it. Dodge is still not out yet. BUT soon as i keep hearing. The Common Rail needs an incab adjustable box like the Comp! BUT in due time!

These all look nice but why not a fuel pressure gauge? If I get some gauges I want to have all of them in the same place so that I don't have to be looking all around at them. Is there any mod kits that have a fuel pressure gauge in them. And which type of mod is better, the tst power max or the blue chip? thanks dave

If i am not mistaken, the FMS from Blue Chips does tap into your fuel system via a pressure sensor and tells you when your fuel pressure is too low!!! AND i think it cuts power until you boost fuel pressure. We have played with one and they are VERY COOL! BUT very pricey. Around a Grand. ALSO its just a fueling box. Doesn’t do anything for timing. BUT i have heard that you can run a timing box (Edge EZ) with it and its WOW! This is what i have heard. If you can hold out for the Edge box with the Attitude monitor, it would be your cheaper rout with good results. But the FMS Box get the nod for cool factor! Does lots while looking good! The Edge with monitor being a 7 on a scale of 10 while the FMS being a 9.5. Think that states it best. Havent played with the TST box yet but its seems to look alright by my standards.

Dave......if you dont mind the high price tag, The F.M.S. is supposed to be awesome...pretty much top of the line. I havent personally ran one, but that is what Ive heard. Im sure someone on here may have one.... Blue Chip supposedly made the first fuelling boxes for the CTD and the other ones are loosely based on them.

Why no Fuel Pressure??? Dont bother with electric fuel pressure...the senders dont stand up to the pulses from the VP44....get yourself a mechanical Fuel Pressure guage - its the only way to go.

If you want my 2 cents the edge attitude is a step above the blue chips/tst as far as replacement of regular gauges. The screen on the attitude and how it mounts looks 10 times better in the cab then those other two products. But not everyone cares about looks. Plus at around 300 bones the attitude moniter isn't to overly priced like the x-monitor digital guages are.

Even with the monitor being digital can't you out a mechanical gauge in with a sender to the digital? I am also hoping not to lose mileage. The bluechip does sound good but I really don't like the way they look, the numbers look like they are hard to read. does anyone have pictures of one mounted so I could see what they look like in the cab. thanks dave

I hear of more problems with the mechanical gauges and thier snubbers than I do about electric senders.

Actually I think the problem is the isolators self-destructing that some use with a mechanical gauge.

Isolator, snubber, check valve. Whatever you want to call it.

Over 1 year on my Dakota digital and no problems. I used 2 feet of fuel injection line to absorb the pulses.

No the digital guages must have an electric sender. The mechanical guages use a hose to send pressure to a tube that is behind the guage face. The pointer on the guage is connected to the end of the tube and the tube expands and contracts with pressure differences and the indication is shown on the guage face.

Its kind of funny - some people have problems with the senders and some people dont. Its just my opinion that the mechanical are better, and if you use good quality SS braided hose and fittings, you wont ever have to worry about a leak.

Yeah, the isolators seem to be troublesome but I cant see having problems from a snubber OR check valve.
