I know that I have to print, fill out and fax the waiver to Edge with my VIN and serial number of my Edge unit along with my signature and credit card information for billing purposes to them, but how do they get back in touch with me for my unlock code? Do they mail it, e-mail it, call, etc? If I were to do this, I would be doing it from out here floating around the ocean and sometimes our fax machine is quirky down there in the supply office...so I don't want unreliability to keep me from getting the unlock code. Also, how long does it usually take to get the code back from them? Thanks

To the top...nobody has ever had to do the waiver and pay thing for the Hot upgrade? I guess I could wait till I got back from being out to sea, but if it takes a while, might as well have that info waiting on me to unlock when I get home.

From my understanding, you have to send them the unit itself, and they program it, and send the unit back to you.

That's just on the '05 and older models...the '06 has an "Unlock Hot Upgrade" feature already built into it, and you send Edge a waiver telling them that you know that it might break something and don't hold them accountable, pay them their $100 and they send you the unlock code...I just don't know how they get you the code?

well ,i would pick up the phone and call them ... i am sure they will give it to you over the phone once you give them their 100 bucks ....

If this is the easiest way, looks like I'll have to wait to get home. I am in the Navy and am out to sea currently and will be for the next couple weeks. We don't have access to a phone and the internet runs off of SHF...takes me MINUTES just to post one time! LOL

I think that they would email you the code. I had to send mine in, but I know that the newer ones allow you just to put the code in

I just sent in my paper work thru the mail yesterday. I have spoke with the Edge Tech guys and no they won't just give you the code once they get the money. It frustrated me to the point I wanted to sell it. I asked also how I was to recieve the code and was answered that I will recieve a phone call in a day or two of them recieving my paper work. In that phone call would be the unlock code. To bad noone knows of a program to get a key code generator for this and a few other things that need them like computer programs. Hope that this info helps. I may have forgot something in this but don't think so.
