I searched under both Attitude and Outlook but never found a thread where somebody has asked about this before, so here goes...

I'm picking up my new (to me) truck on April 15th... 2005 RAM 3500 QC DRW 4x4 6sp 3.73. I want to order up one of the power adders for it. I was originally set on the Juice/Attitude, but a friend in New Mexico has the Bullydog setup. I started reading up on it, and it looks like it might be the better of the two.

The Outlook is nowhere near as visually appealing as the Attitude, but it can operate independently of the TripleDog, so for dealer visits I wouldn't have to remove anything except the TripleDog, which would just be a matter of restoring the stock programming and unplugging it from the ALDL connector.

In the case of the J&A, it looks like I'd have to unplug everything and remove it completely, including the Attitude and any neat mounts for it (pillar or whatever), since it looks like it's the Juice that does all of the connecting to the truck in all those spots under the hood. Not to mention the velcro on the fusebox cover would be a dead giveaway to a dealer intent on denying coverage.

What I'm asking is this though... is there a reason I should go for the J&A over the Bullydog? Does one do better mileage than the other? I'm not looking for major power; I will be doing a lot of towing after i get my new Lance when the 08's come out... I just want some extra oomph and better mileage.

I can get the Bullydog setup a lot cheaper than the J&A (about $150 cheaper)... and it lets you set stuff like fog lights staying on with high beams, accessory power timeouts, seatbelt chimes, etc... things the J&A doesn't.

So what are the Pros and Cons of each that I haven't discovered yet?

Rob, i think with that its all bout preferance. I heard great things bout both, but also heard negative things on both. The bully dog is nice cause of the other features like the lights but i dont know bout the power. I have the juice and attitude and i like it. But yeah you have to rip out the whole thing for concelment from the dealership. Mine knows and hes good about it so far. Lets hope you can find one out your way that would be cool about it. Just tell him that you use it for you gauges if you go that route.

They both have features that the other doesnt have. The juice does have 5 power levels, where the bullydog only has 3. Including stock, the juice has 6 bullydog 4.

As for power, i have shown it through the 1/4 mile that the bullydog is quicker by about 2 tenths. Juice on 5/5 and Bullydog on Performance. Launching the BD with no boost netted a 15.01, launching the Juice with 10lbs of boost gave a 15.00. Launching the juice with no boost (to make it equal to my BD run) gave me a 15.23

Does the Commander or the smarty have the same cool features that the BD has? I was going to buy the Quad Race/Smarty stack but the BD has some cool features that's got me thinking now.....dang it!

The BD has more features coming to, like adjustable for tire size, daytime running lights etc.
I'm very happy with mine so far.

Love my triple dog...makes awesome power and the other options are nice to have. I dont think you'll go wrong with either one...

I also have an Edge EZ and it works very well too. They work even better stacked together!!

Both companies have great customer service too...in my experiences!

I would HIGHLY suggest you look into the Quadzilla Commander with an race box or standard box. Stand alone gauges (lots of them!) and good power (140hp).....check it out.

What do you guys think of the Smarty? I hear it's the only one that is undetectable after reverting to stock. Downside is without a controller like the Attitude or Outlook, there's no way to do automatic defueling.

Attitude is NOT a stand alone setup. Thats alot of money to spend on a Juice/Attitude just for the display.

The smarty might be the least detectable. I would not go so far as to say undetectable.

Your right the other modules can do alot more functional features.

My personal opinion is there's a reason there lower priced than others. I had a XZT installed in a friends 06 and wasn't impressed unless you floored the throttle then holy heavens. Not what I was looking for. The commander cannot do nearly what the other monitors can do. Not much more than standard mechanical guages. There modules are not sealed from the elements, in fact you can look right down into the open end and see the circuit board. Maybe doesn't hurt a thing as long as it's mounted inside the cab and out of the elements, but my personal feelings are I like things a little more element proof.

Not slamming Quadzilla products at all. They have good products at reasonable prices, which is a great feature. Their customer service is second to none at this point that I'am aware of. If their product would not have been what I explained in the first paragraph I more than likely would be buying them for friends who ask for information. Again not slamming for critisizing Quadzilla, maybe if they read this it will help them develope products.

its all about what you are looking for. I prefer straight forward mechanical gauge set ups, thus i prefer the Commander. It has rail pressure, fuel pressure, boost, EGT, etc. The cost of a rail pressure gauge and a fuel pressure gauge exceed the amount of the Commander as it sits!

The Attitude will never be able to do rail pressure or fuel pressure....but yea it has the 1/4 mile feature. big deal. Its all in what you are looking for out of a monitor. If you are after bling, look at the Bullydog PMT or the Edge A2.

The instructions tell you to mount Quad boxes under the dash, NOT under the hood. Yes the design is rather open, but thats handy in a way. i have personally seen Roark program my XZT for a stack in under 5 minutes. I have better power on the bottom end with my XZT, however, my buddies 06 seems to have it on the top end....its the same module i just know it works!

Are you kidding me!!! You talk like it's some big technology secret. I'am not going to get into a bigger better thing. If anyone is interested in any product they should go to the products respective website and check out each ones features and then decide for themselves which is better for their personal application.

exactly. personal preference. I need stuff like rail pressure and fuel pressure readings, maybe you don't. happy modding

What I ultimately want to do, dependent upon time, money, and space (to put guages) is to have a J&A or Bulldog Outlook/TripleDog setup, and then add some SPA guages (two-in one digital) to read across the fuel filter, and then another one to do engine oil temp and rear end temp. Plus I already have another 2" guage from my Roadwatch, which is a laser temp probe aimed at the ground under the truck to tell you road surface temp while driving.
