Looking at the Edge EZ for some more power and maybe economy, I would like to know if this thing is worth the $. I don't have any mods on my truck except bigger tires and a Fass Fuel System. Feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

Its a real basic/starter box. BUT, if you have any plans for upgrades later I would bypass it. The Edge EZ with a set of mild injectors make for a nice towing setup.

I drive it everyday back and forth to work and sometimes on the weekends for whatever I am doing, about 400 miles a week. Getting pretty good gas mileage 18mpg, but would like some extra power. Running a repaired 53 block and 190,000 miles so I don't want to get carried away. If you know something that would give me a better bang for the buck, I'm all ears.

check out the quadzilla xzt+ in the DTR store. SImilar specs to the Edge EZ, but more options if wanted just by downloading different tunes (high idle, cold engine protection, different levels of aggressiveness)

I will check out the quadzilla, let me ask you guys another question, would it be better or worth the money to just get the juice with attitude because I currently don't have gauges and I would have to buy them along with EZ. Seems like alot more settings too. But will my stock auto tranny stand it?

My main objective is to get a noticable differance out of my truck without taking the daily driver-fuel milage out of it. The quadzilla definatly looks like a good choice but will I notice the increased power? I live in missouri and we have alot of hills, on the big ones even with just a full load of wood in the bed I can't really run as fast as I want, so thats why I want the extra power.

I ran en edge ez and it made a noticeable difference. I added the 40hp injectors and the trans (auto) started slipping. A goerend VB/TC was then added. Understand about the hills, live in Franklin county Missouri.

I live in Jefferson county so you know exactly what I'm talking about. What is a goerend VB/TC? Do I have to add the injectors? What level did you run the EZ on? Do you think it is worth the money?

Goerend is a band/name of a tranny build/er. VB is Valve Body and TC is Torque convertor.

You wouldnt HAVE to add the injectos at all. I ran my EZ for a year and a half and liked it vey much. Very easy and user friendly. Just plug and play.
I always ran mine on stage 3 (top stage).
The Juice would be a good idea to get you gauges and power, but then you might have to addess your trans sooner rather then later.
If you just ran the EZ, I think you would be quite pleased. Just my .02.

you will certainly notice the power difference. by no means is it huge, but it is enough certainly to notice a difference with something in tow. it pull up the hills like it was on flat ground. you do NOT have to add any injectors, but to take full advantage of the box, it would be a NICE to have but certainly not a MUST have.

the mild injectors talked about are RV275's which i have in my truck. i first added the xzt+, and then later the injectors. with each addition, i noticed the same power difference measured from the "seat of the pants". the two combined are a very popular and safe upgrade. increases fuel economy if driven properly, and adds some additional power to make it much nicer to drive. the biggest difference i noticed was in passing on the highway at highway speeds - it really gets up and goes much better than stock.

if you already had gauges I'd say get an EZ, but seeing as you dont get the Juice with attitude, if you do the math its cheaper to get the juice rather than getting an EZ and gauges. plus the J/A can provide so much more protection. that being said just dont hook up the wire tap, this will limit you to 60hp, (same as an EZ)

I did it the expensive way, I bought gauges and an EZ only to replace it later, my only regrett was I wish I had done the J/A first, I basically wasted 800$ for an EZ & mechanical gauges, only way you will come ahead is if you find a used set up from someone. but comparing new to new the J/A does more and is cheaper

X2, I did the exact thing as NickG and kicked myself for it for sure.
Another way you could go however, is if you did an EZ with mech gauges, you could always stack a Smarty progammer on it later on. And or through in some mild injectos.
Over all, I really like my J/A. It has some really nice safety features that alone make it a good chioce in my book.
