Edge EZ and towing, egt and trans temp numbers

So I finally got the TT out of storage this last weekend, new EZ around Christmas time, instlled since then, dropped it to level 1 for the first tow from level 3. Power was definitely there compared to stock but the egt numbers were a bit higher than I had hoped. Pulling good Rocky MTN grades hwy 50 west of Canon city if anyone knows the area is a good LONG pull. TT is ~7000lbs bumper pull. Now for the numbers

Egt's on normal flat small hills 800* to 1,000*
Egt's WOT up a grade 1,300* but never above 1,375* gauge goes to 1500* this was in 4th and 3rd locked, no real egt loss by changing gears.

Boost 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear 26psi no problems, could not get 4th (OD) past 18psi maybe there is the problem with the egt's???

Trans temp 3rd locked 4th no problems 170-180* even down to 160* on a long flat stretch of HWY 115. Stop and go traffic in 90+* Canon City traffic saw now more than maybe 215* but quickly cools back to 180* Hot line sender install.

FP flawless never below 14psi WOT or whatever I would throw at it, normally around 16 psi cruising the hwy at 65mph.

Now the confusing part, my city driving is hotter egt wise with the EZ on level 1 than it was on level 3 by about 150* with no trailer 2 days verified on the same hills on my commute and 3rd lockup normal readings are 850 and now it's almost 1100*. Power seems about the same, maybe just a tad less but not much with the power settings done on the EZ.

Only intake mod is new stock filter and I've removed the intake horn (I hope that's what it's called) plastic cowl that directs the air from the passenger side wheel well. This gave me about a 100* drop in egt's soooo...

Are my numbers way off, run it on level 3, other please advise. Altitude if it matters is between 5500ft and over 12,000 on some places we drive, but never more than I'd guess 9000ft on this trip.

Thanks

Mine's stock with a Superchips D-Box (same as Edge EZ). On whatever setting comes stock. I let off when I hit 1250, which I can do on big hills with the pedal to the floor.

My tranny never gets hot unless I have to downshift to 2nd gear going up or down hills. A converter lock-up switch would be nice for those occasions. It also gets hot when backing.
