Edge Comp Vs. VA Box

Right now I have a VA box; a guy I know sold his 01 for a 05 dodge. He is going to give me a good deal. So my question is. Is it worth the money to switch from a VA box to an Edge Comp? How much of a power difference is it between the two boxes. Also how much is a used VA box worth, the box was on the truck when I bought it so I do not know how much it was worth new.

Thanks
Clay

I have never driven a truck with the VA box but hear it is similar to a EZ.I ran my drag comp like a EZ for a while and then tapped the wire and it made a big difference. So,I would guess it will be a good bit more than the box you are running now.I would recomend the comp to anybody.Havent had it long but it is working good. The drag version just keeps on pulling too.

Kinda what I was thinking, Does 300$ seem about right for a used comp? He had it on his truck for about 2 years.

Excellent price for a used Edge Comp...and the older boxes seem to be more reliable.

Talking

my truck is also an 01.i have a van aaken box too,and i just bought a used comp,i unpluged the van aaken and used the comp in ez mode,it made a bit more power than the van aaken.then i tapped the wire and she was great, exc throttle response, way more smoke though.egts fly high.and boost climbs in a flash.i turned the comp to level 1 and plugged the van akken back in.ive only been able to take the comp to level 3 with the van aaken because of some fuel problems i have to deal with, but with the van akken and the comp on 3 it feels mre powerful than the comp alone on 5/5.when i get a pusher pump ill try the higher levels.i like the comp because you can turn it off.my van akken was an older one and didnt plug into the map sensor so using the comp with it was great because the comp has a built in boost fooler.together they rock.get the comp you wont be disapointed, even with your van aaken and the comp in ez mode will rock.

What does the comp plug into? I was looking at my VA box and it looks like it goes to the Map Sensor and the back of the VP 44. Would that cause too much timing if I used both of them together?

the comp plugs into the data portdown by the power steering pump,{was kinda hard to find}and the map sensor and of course it also has a wire to the vp44 wiring.if yours is used like mine was i didnt get the special tap that edge puts with the kit,i called them and they sent me one free and paid to ship it to me in canada.great costomer service.i asked on this forum if it was to much timing and i got no replies so i tried it.seems to be ok.but mine is older and doesnt have a map sensor plug.so stacking yours may not work cuz either the comp of van akken would be without the map sensor pluged in.for 300 bucks grab the comp, you can always get200 bucks for the van akken.

Thanks for the Info guys, I think I will buy the comp and see what happens. How well do the pump covers work for hooking up the pump wire from the comp. worth the money or just splice into the wire?
