Well I installed my comp box today, pretty straight forward. and I have got to say in my 16 years of hotrodding I have never seen such an increase of h.p. with a "bolt on" part my only question is wheres the smoke? with comp on 5&5 bairly any smoke??? Thanks

Yes, please fill out the sig. Also, did you pierce the wire? If so, then be prepared to upgrade the rest of your rig to accomodate the comp!! If nothing has fouled up so far w/ the wire tapped, it will. They will always foul up over time unless other mods are added.

wire tapped, not using 5 setting yet only the one time as I don't have my guages yet (back order !!!)

Be EXTREMELY easy on it since you don't have your gauges in yet. You'd be suprised what can happen if you're not able to monitor the essensials.

Speaking of guages does anyone have a pic of the isolator that they say you need with the fuel psi guage

They do say that you need it, but they are full of it. I know of more folks not using one than using one, including myself. Sorry no pics though.

That is only for the mechanical fuel pressure gauges.
One line goes to the fuel system, and another goes to the gauge.
I didn't use an isolator in my install, just a high quality stainless braided line straight to the gauge.
Purchased the whole gauge set from Rod @ Wildcat Diesel Performance.
No leaks in 3+ years.

The electronic gauges mount the sender under the hood and connect to the guage with wire.

i must of tappe d the wrong wire icann't tell a big differnece in 1 and five settting ( maybe may clutch is holding) Any way to see if you tp job is right i had a hard time tapping it in fact it was easy putting my holley blue pump on this chip

When I put the comp on instead of tapping the wire on the pump I replaced the fuel injection pump comver with the one from Blue Chip. I liked the idea of the pump cover. I have never had any real success from using the wire piercing connectors. I used to work for a company that rebuild office equipment. In one photocopier we troubleshot it for 8 hours in front of a customer. We never got the same problem twice and replaced just about every electrical part. After 8 hours we had to remove the unit we had just installed and come back the next day. Later in the shop we removed about a half a dozen of those wire piercing connectors and found that that the copy worked great after a solid connection was made. I wouldn't use a wire piercing connector for any application.

Check out the pump cover, it was reasonably priced and easy to replace.
