I need to get some opinions about the edge with hot upgrade. I am thinking about installing this on my 04.5 ctd, it is bone stock. Now what I need to know is if I install this will I end up burning something up from having too much power. The engine has 51k miles so it is pretty much broke in. Everyones opinion will help, Thanks.

The Hot upgrade will wear out the stock tranny. Upgrade valve body and the converter at least. Open up the intake and straighten the exhaust.

IMO there is to much fuel for the stock tranny as mine went south with just the regular Edge. Once I upgraded to the Hot program my Hts tranny is great with it no slip or anything but, Like the first line here said to much fuel for stock charger. I upgraded to a II Ps 6280 and it still defuels when it hits 1500*. But I did have a good dyno number with it. See Sig.

That's cuz you have an 06. His 04.5 can run the Hot with the stock turbo and still keep egts reasonable. But you would still need tranny work. If you don't want to do anything to the tranny, stick with less than 80hp. The Quad xzt 65hp box is nice.

Hey, you can get by with the stock charger. I have used it in some pretty extreme situations. Drag racing and sled pulling. I have the Hot juice stacked with a Predator and have run this way for 1 year. In my worthless opinion I think its wasted money on a turbo upgrade with the hot juice only.

But with that said....I feel that I could make more power with a bigger turbo with my mods I have done to my truck and especially the ones I am getting ready to do .

I appreciate everyones input, I mostly use the truck as a everyday driver and to pull my quads to the dunes every so often. I wont be using it to do any sled pulling or track drag racing as of right now, but do want to have the little extra power to blow a little rice rockets doors off at a red light after they spent thousands on that little engine.

Seeing what you are using it for makes my mind up for sure...bigger turbo= wasted money. If I can get by with what have been doing you will get by too. Just upgrade the tranny, intake, exhaust and maybe a inline fuel pusher pump also for the Hot upgrade. With these you will spank most chalengers off the line every time.

Ok that is probally the case with me. I tried to get opinions on here as what to get as far as turbos and I think that you where the only one to answer them. Just wish I new how to cool it to have nearly no black smoke when spooled.
