Edge attitude with juice
i take it that the attitude is basically the gauges right? Can the Attitude be purchased seperatley from the juice? My first priority is to monitor the engine, then upgrade performance later. Thanks.

Basically, yes. You cannot just get the attitude, it plugs into the edge, and the edge has the plugs from there. The attitude adds a lot of features, so it is a little more than guages.

ya it's well worth the price cause if you were to add up all the gauges that it replaced..... fuel press, boost, egt, tranny temp, speedometer, and i know there are a few more...... the gauges alone would exceed the price of the box.....

you can have the juice without the attitude, but you cant have the attitude w/o the juice. the attitude is just a monitor in essence. the "brain" is the actual juice box itself and thats where everything plugs into.
look around a bit. i know i sure couldnt afford $800. i snatched one up here in the classifides for $500.

I installed my juice with the attitude 2 days ago and think it's well worth the money. Save up up and buy the whole works together. As well as the gauge readouts, it has the cold engine power backdown and turbo cooldown features, alarms for your setpoints and power backdown for your setpoints. I couldn't imaging how you would take advantage of this without the attitude controller.

Well, here is the thing. Right now I just wanted to monitor everything because there is 3 months left on my warranty. i was affraid that if i put a programer on it, it would be my luck that something would fail and they would weasel out of covering it under my warranty. Can they do that? Is there any way to buy the attitude with juice, and not launch a new program? Not change fuel curves or anything like that until my warranty is up?

It's not as crucial to monitor the engine without any mods but the EDGE is a powerful program. I helped a friend install it and with all the gauges and everything theres some drilling and fabricating involved. With the price of Gauges and how many things the Edge keeps track of versus plain gauges you might as well buy the power too! It has alot of safety features aswell.
And for the warranty thing.. they will probably find out if you screw something up. If you burn up your turbo, exhaust gaskets,
exhaust manifold, head casting.. maybe your pistons, rings... bla bla bla.. you know something relatively expensive they may look into it. Someone explained it to me that... on your hard drive of your computer you can restore you memory to certain dates and periods of time to retreive old information. Our trucks supposedly have memories just like computers, the dealership can look into it's memory (if they want to make an investigation out of it) and discover that it's been hopped up and messed with. Kind of like the diagnostic equiptment they use to find out what's wrong. I'm not exactly sure if thats true but my buddy has a Duramax, blew it up with a chip and returned it's settings to stock. They found out and refused to replace it.
BUT then again.. your'e in a Cummins, not an Izuzu made, aluminum block, Duramax. My friend has a 99' with the Edge Juice w/ attitude. It has so many safety features you couldn't cook a thing. For EGT's all I remember doing is putting a sensor thing in the Manifold and this little elbow (that ended up on my turbo) that helps you hold a higher PSI. We crank it out to level 5 all the time and blow people's doors off and maybe for a split second hit EGT's like1250. That will cook ya if it's for any long period of time like on a hauling trip. The choke point of the HX35 and the HY ( for automatics bc of different spool times) is like.. 40psi but thats not good for too long. Keep it in high 20's low-mid 30's and your'e good or else you'll build up too much back pressure and over boost and burn up ur turbo. You should be good though. The Edge is really a great chip to look into and has a TON of safety features. Deffinitley the safest and most powerfull one I believe out there. You can also adjust the power levels as you drive by a button just incase you feel TOO powerful (no such thing!). A great chip, way better than mine!

Thanks for that It does seem to be a great set up. But like i was asking, can i buy it, put in on, and not engage any of the plus HP or trq stages? Is it possible to have one on the truck, and have all programs turned off, or at stock. But have the gauges on?

Ah yes, and also, which pod would you recommend to mount it? Would you go with the normal pillar mount, or the above head mount? Which one would be a less pain to install?

Well.... yes, there is a stock setting (I'm almost posotive you can have the gauges on while it's set at stock but I'll check with my friend tommarrow morning) and you have the power ontap & on the fly whenever you press the up arrow And the beauty of the Edge is that it monitors so many things you couldn't find a pod with enough holes in it. It's a display screen and comes with it's own pod & dash mount with the Edge Juice w/ Attitude package.
I'll ask him tommarrow morning for all the Details of the Edge and tell you for sure. He tells me all the time how much he loves it. It even has a cooldown mode where if you take ur keys out it says on for the turbo to cooldown to a certain temp then shuts itself off. It pretty much programs the entire brain of the Dodge with Edge thoughts haha.

The chip has to be on and downloaded and leave it on level 0 (stock level) so you will recieve no power gains. Either way you'll void your warranty because you'll be altering your engine. Soooo your'e screwed out of ur warranty either way. Just put gauges on. BUT if you put it in and run around on level 0 you won't mess anything up.
